Continuo is a menu-bar-only app (LSUIElement). If you do not see the icon, the
app may still be running in the background. The steps below check that first,
then the usual macOS causes.

Confirm the app is running
Open Activity Monitor and search for Continuo. If it is not listed, launch Continuo from Applications again.
Closing all windows does not quit Continuo. The menu bar item should stay.
Hidden behind the notch or overflow
On MacBook Pro with a notch, the icon may sit under the camera housing or in the Control Center overflow (») on the right of the menu bar. Hold ⌥ and drag other menu bar items to make room.
Show menu bar icon setting
Settings → General → Show menu bar icon must be on. If you turned it off, open Continuo from Spotlight (⌘Space, type Continuo) to reach Settings and re-enable it.
Permissions not the cause
Missing Accessibility or Input Monitoring shows banners inside Continuo but does not hide the status item by itself. Fix permissions if control fails; see Permissions.
Debug vs release builds
Plain debug-signed builds sometimes behave differently with WindowServer and menu bar placement. If you are testing a development build, try the notarized release from Download.
New macOS user account test
If the icon appears when you first launch but vanishes after closing a window, or never appears on only one login account, macOS menu bar state for that user may be corrupted. Creating a fresh macOS user account on the same machine is a reliable isolation test.
Still invisible
Contact support with your macOS version, Mac model (notched or not), and whether Activity Monitor shows Continuo running.
