Copy on one Mac, paste on another. Clipboard sync rides a dedicated channel separate from keystroke latency, so a large paste does not stall pointer movement.
Turn it on
Settings → Sharing → Share clipboard (on by default).
Direction
Choose which way copies flow. Both ways lets either Mac push clipboard updates to the other. This → others sends only this Mac’s copies outward.
Size limit
Maximum size sets the largest clipboard payload Continuo will send: 1 MB, 5 MB, or 25 MB. The default is 1 MB. Larger copies are skipped, not truncated. Nothing is sent silently in the background.
Rich clipboard on the wire is capped at 32 MB on the receiving side regardless of the sender’s setting.
What syncs
Plain text always syncs within the size cap. Images and files sync when within the cap; images are checked at read time so Continuo does not allocate memory for oversized payloads. Rich clipboard (images and files) requires Pro; text clipboard is included in Free. See Free vs Pro.
What never syncs
Concealed and secret items (passwords and other pasteboard types macOS marks as secret) are skipped. This is enforced under Settings → Privacy & Security and cannot be turned off.
Continuo also suppresses echo: when it writes to the pasteboard locally, that write is not broadcast back to peers.
When files arrive
Notify on receive under Settings → Sharing shows a notification when files land on this Mac, including large clipboard pulls. Grant notification permission when prompted.
